Buffett's Berkshire details about reducing Apple holdings in Q2

Asia Tech Wire (Aug 15) -- Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. gave details about reducing its Apple holdings in the second quarter of 2024.

A 13F filing Wednesday shows Berkshire increased its holdings in Occidental Petroleum, Chubb and others in the second quarter of 2024.

It also reduced its position in Apple by 389 million shares in the quarter, falling from 40.81% to 30.52%.

In addition, Berkshire reduced its holdings in oil and gas giant Chevron, communications giant T-Mobile, and liquidated its positions in cloud computing company Snowflake and media conglomerate Paramount Global.

Meanwhile, the investment firm built up positions in beauty company Ulta Beauty and electronics company Heico.

Although after some intense selling, Berkshire's major positions in order did not change, Apple, Bank of America, American Express, Coca-Cola, Chevron still ranked in the top five.

As of June 30, 2024, the total market value of Berkshire's positions dropped from $332 billion to $279.969 billion.
