Asian Tech Press (SEP 06) -- According to media reports last week, Apple executives are reaching out to Asian automakers and suppliers, focusing on producing Apple cars amid global chip shortages.

And the latest reports indicate that Apple also plans to visit Toyota to talk about the mass production of Apple's cars.

This is not the first time Apple has contacted a major auto manufacturer. Earlier this year, Korean media reported that Apple and Hyundai were talking about cooperating on electric vehicles. Kia, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, will begin producing the long-rumored Apple car in 2024. But in February, Hyundai and Kia confirmed that they were no longer in talks with Apple about a partnership on Apple cars.
