Asian Tech Press (Jan 06) -- The Digital RMB App was upgraded and updated, and the WeChat Bank (WeChat Pay) Digital RMB Wallet went live. After a multi-stage controlled pilot, Tencent started to provide digital RMB services for users.

WeChat Pay has added a new "Digital RMB" portal on the "Wallet" page and a new "Pay with Digital RMB" option on the "Receive and Pay" page of WeChat. The option of "Pay with Digital RMB" has been added to the "Payments" page of WeChat. Users can use the Digital RMB App or WeChat to make payments after opening the digital RMB wallet of WeChat Bank (WeChat Pay).
