Digital yuan wallet available in Guangzhou
Mar.31,2022

Asian Tech Press (Mar. 31) -- China's digital yuan wallet app is now available in Guangzhou.

Some supermarkets and stores in Guangzhou on Thursday can already use the e-CNY app, or digital yuan wallet, developed by the People's Bank of China's (PBOC) digital currency research institute.

Guangzhou is the latest city to pilot the digital RMB app. The PBOC previously launched pilots in Shenzhen, Suzhou, Xiong'an, Chengdu, Shanghai, Hainan, Changsha, Xi'an, Qingdao and Dalian.

The payment module of e-CNY app is the same as those of Tencent's WeChat Pay and Alibaba's Alipay, and the payment page can be changed to one containing QR code and barcode, which can be easily scanned by cashiers.
