Asian Tech Press (OCT 14) -- Tencent Kandian, a subsidiary of Tencent PCG, will be officially renamed as "Information Platform and Service Line." The main reason for this organizational restructuring is to merge part of the Sogou team and carry out strategic transformation simultaneously.

Last September, Sogou announced the signing of the final privatization agreement. After the completion of the merger, Sogou will become an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Tencent.

On September 22 this year, news broke that the main Sogou team merged with Tencent Kandian. Tencent Kandian will absorb the vast majority of Sogou's business and employees. After the merger, most of Sogou's business and products will be shut down.

On September 23, Sogou announced the completion of the privatization transaction, becoming an indirect wholly-owned company by Tencent, and has applied to stop trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
