Data shows that Tencent has invested in 27 gaming companies in the first half of this year, averaging seven days to make one investment.
From the investment field perspective, Tencent's current investment round mainly focuses on domestic small and medium-sized game developers. This behavior is seen as a defensive offense by the industry.
"Tencent continues to broaden its product line. No matter it is MMO (massively multiplayer online games), RPG (role-playing games), SLG (strategy games), or card and casual games, as long as the excellent game developers are all included. Fundamentally eliminating the possibility of new giants rising to the top." A gaming data platform analyst said.
