On May 14, Sohu announced its financial report for the first quarter of 2021, showing that total revenue for the period was $222 million, up 24% year-on-year.

Its non-GAAP net income from continuing operations attributable to Sohu was $37 million, compared with a net loss of $8 million in the same period last year, far exceeding previous expectations.

Specifically, brand advertising revenue was $31 million, up 20% from the same period in 2020; online game revenue was $176 million, up 32% from the same period in 2020.
