Asian Tech Press (Jan 24) -- SoftBank Group plans to expand its Vision Fund's Japanese investment team, adding staff and increasing deal brokering efforts in order to invest more in domestic firms.
SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son raised about $100 billion for his first Vision Fund and allocated $51 billion for his second Vision Fund, but most of his investments have been overseas, especially in the United States and China. So far, he has invested in only two Japanese startups.
