Asian Tech Press (SEP 22) -- According to the Financial Times, Japan's SoftBank Group announced that it will invest in a new US$2.5 billion private equity fund set up by former U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.
After four years in the Trump administration, Mnuchin reportedly founded Liberty Strategic Capital earlier this year, focusing on financial services and technology.
Liberty Strategic Capital will be backed by SoftBank's Vision Fund, Abu Dhabi-based sovereign wealth fund Mubadala and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF).
