Asia Tech Wire (Sep 18) -- Shein's potential London IPO could face greater scrutiny, according to British media reports.
Liam Byrne, a member of the UK Labour Party, urged the authorities to introduce legislation to ban the import of products made in China's Xinjiang region that involve forced labor.
Byrne also called for greater scrutiny of Shein's potential London IPO, including the summoning of company executives and questioning.
Shein, for its part, issued a statement saying it has a "zero-tolerance policy" on forced labor, reiterating that it is fully committed to respecting human rights and that it requires its upstream suppliers to source raw materials only from approved regions.
