Asia Tech Wire (July 22) -- South Korea's Samsung Electronics has started mass production of HBM3 chips for Nvidia, according to Sedaily.

Samsung Electronics, which recently passed Nvidia's HBM3 qualification test, has begun mass production and supplying HBM3 memory to the U.S. tech giant, a Sedaily report said, citing industry sources.

In order to supplement the supply of general-purpose DRAM, which has become insufficient due to the supply of HBM, Samsung will transform its Pyeongtaek Plant 4 (P4) into a DRAM-only production line.

Notably, this is the first time Samsung Electronics has supplied HBM3 memory to Nvidia.
