Asian Tech Press (Nov 1) -- South Korea's Samsung Electronics plans to realize $57 billion in export revenue in Vietnam this year.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính met with Samsung Electronics Chief Financial Officer Hark-Kyu Park in Hanoi on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Park said Samsung Vietnam aims to realize export revenues of $57 billion this year.
According to the Vietnamese government, Samsung recorded revenue of more than $48 billion in Vietnam from January to September this year, with export turnover amounting to nearly $42 billion.
Chính suggested that Samsung continue to invest in Vietnam into high technology, electronics, semiconductors, digital transformation and more.
So far, Samsung has invested $18 billion in Vietnam and plans to increase the figure to $20 billion.
Samsung hopes to become the largest foreign investor in Vietnam in the next two to three decades.
