Philippine Airlines to increase market share of North American flights

Asia Tech Wire (Oct 11) -- Philippine Airlines (PAL), the flagship carrier of the Philippines, plans to increase its market share of North American flights, according to the Philippine Star.

The company is looking at a list of U.S. destinations it can add after receiving nine Airbus A350-1000 wide-body aircraft, PAL vice president of sales Bud Britanico said in a recent interview.

New destinations under consideration include Illinois, Texas, and Nevada, with 200,000, 160,000, and 170,000 Filipinos residing in the U.S. states, respectively.

In 2023, PAL Air's market share of Philippine flights to the U.S. and Canada drops to 47% from 65% in 2022.
