Asia Tech Wire (Oct 10) -- Facebook parent Meta Platforms Inc. announced Wednesday it will launch its artificial intelligence chatbot in 21 new markets, competing with OpenAI's ChatGPT.
Meta AI will be available in the U.K., Brazil and more countries in Latin America and Asia starting Wednesday, Meta said.
Users in Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Philippines and the U.K. will have access to Meta AI on Wednesday, according to a press release.
And Meta also plans to gradually open up access to Meta AI in Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Thailand, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and Yemen.
In addition, the chatbot will also support languages such as Arabic, Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese.
Upon completion of the gradual rollout, Meta AI will be available in 43 countries and a dozen languages.
