Asia Tech Wire (Aug 5) -- U.S. chipmaker Nvidia and Chinese e-commerce giant Pinduoduo have made their debut on the Fortune 500 list.
According to the Fortune 500 ranking for 2024 on Sunday, two U.S. tech companies, Amazon and Apple, are among the top 10 companies, ranking No. 2 and No. 7, respectively.
In addition, U.S. tech giants Google and Microsoft came in at No. 17 and No. 26, respectively.
And Nvidia, one of the beneficiaries of the AI boom, made its debut on the list at No. 222, the highest ranking among the companies appearing on the list for the first time this year.
Chinese tech companies with high rankings include JD.com (No. 47), China Mobile (No. 55), Alibaba (No. 70) and Huawei (No. 103).
Of China's five Internet giants, Alibaba slipped two spots, while JD.com, Tencent and Meituan all moved up in the rankings, while Temu owner Pinduoduo made its debut on the list.
Benefiting from the rebound of the Chinese Internet industry, Meituan was the Chinese firm that made the biggest jump on the list, jumping 83 spots to No. 384.
JD.com, at No. 47, entered the top 50 for the first time.
