Asian Tech Press (Dec 29) -- LG Display will supply some of the 120Hz refresh rate enabled LTPO TFT OLED screens for the iPhone 14 Pro Max next year, and Samsung Display will no longer be the exclusive supplier of the screens needed for the high-end iPhone.
LG Display will produce LTPO TFT OLED screens for the iPhone 14 Pro Max at their P9 factory in Paju, South Korea.
LG Display will use two production lines at the Paju P9 plant to produce LTPO TFT OLED screens for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. A portion of the AP4 line will be used for the LTPO TFT process and then transferred to the E6 line for organic material deposition to complete the production of LTPO TFT OLED panels.
Since the LTPS TFT OLED panel production line is also in the Paju plant, the production of LTPO TFT OLED will occupy part of the workshop of this plant, which may weaken LG Display's ability to supply LTPS TFT OLED panels to Apple iPhone next year.
