Lenovo CEO says Sora will increase global demand for AI computing power
Feb.22,2024

Asia Tech Wire (Feb 22) -- The launch of Sora will increase global demand for AI computing power, which will further drive the popularisation and civilian application of AI, said Yang Yuanqing, chief executive officer of Chinese PC maker Lenovo Group Ltd (0992.HK).

Yang pointed out at Lenovo's third-quarter earnings conference call that from the supply side, this will raise the demand for traditional performance on the one hand, and require new technological innovations on the other.

He said Lenovo needs to take this opportunity to establish a leading edge while further expanding its market.

Lenovo on Thursday reported its third-quarter revenue at $15.7 billion, up 3% year-on-year.

The PC maker is working closely with Nvidia to provide AI professional services to help customers rapidly deploy hybrid AI solutions, according to several Chinese media reports.
