Kia's EV sales in U.S. hit record high in first 7 months

Asia Tech Wire (Aug 5) -- Kia achieved record sales of electric vehicles in the U.S. in the first seven months of this year, according to the Korea Automobile & Mobility Association (KAMA).

The latest data shows that Kia sold 339,570 electric vehicles in the U.S. from January to July this year, up 100.4% year-on-year, the most ever for the same period.

During the same period, sales in the U.S. EV market totaled 644,752,000 units, up 0.9% year-on-year.

And Hyundai Motor's U.S. sales rose 18.1% year-over-year to 37,673,000 units, outpacing the overall market growth.
