Kia recalls 2,209 Niro EVs in U.S.

Asia Tech Wire (May 27) -- South Korean automaker Kia Corp. is recalling 2,209 Niro electric vehicles in the U.S.

According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Kia is recalling some 2022 Niro EVs, totaling 2,209 units.

The high-voltage battery safety plug in these vehicles may overheat and melt, resulting in loss of drive power or fire.

Kia advises car owners not to charge their vehicles in a garage or any other covered structure until the recall repairs are complete.
