Asian Tech Press (Nov 04) -- Huawei spinoff Honor's CEO Zhao Ming revealed in an interview that Honor has the consideration of setting up a subsidiary brand in the future.
Zhao Ming also said that Honor is benchmarked against Apple and Samsung. The company's share in China is already among the top three, with Honor's investment in R&D second only to Huawei among all Chinese technology companies.
According to market research firm Canalys and Counterpoint research, Honor's market share in China climbed to third place during July-September this year, squeezing Xiaomi into fourth place.
On November 17, 2020, Huawei Investment Holdings Co. announced the sale of the total assets of its Honor cell phone business. Honor's senior management and team will remain stable, and Huawei will no longer hold any shares in Honor after the sale and won't participate in business management and decision-making.
