Asian Tech Press (Sep 13) -- U.S. game developer Epic Games Inc. has appealed the ruling in Apple lawsuit on Sunday.
The game giant has filed an appeal to Friday's ruling in its lawsuit with Apple Inc., asking a higher court to re-examine the case and overturn the judge's ruling, The Verge reported Sunday.
Last Friday, the year-long Epic v. Apple case had its trial result. And the judge ruled that Apple was required to allow the app developer to offer alternative channels of purchase, while denying Epic's claim of illegal monopoly of Fortnite app against Apple and requiring Epic to pay Apple at least $4 million in damages for breach of contract.
In response, Epic Games has appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit against the final judgment rendered on September 10, 2021.
