Asian Tech Press (SEP 22) -- Credit Suisse Group AG is considering merging its Asian investment banking business into its global securities and advisory business as part of a broader overhaul by Chairman Antonio Horta-Osorio to turn around the troubled business.

Merging the advisory business into the global investment banking business would be similar to a move last year, when the bank consolidated its trading and advisory businesses into an international investment banking unit. The board of directors, which McKinsey advises, is scheduled to meet next week to discuss the bank's strategic assessment and has yet to make a final decision on the matter, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Credit Suisse spokesperson refused to comment.
