Asian Tech Press (Sep 14) -- Japan plans to provide an additional 1.3 million doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to Asian countries, Japan's Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said at Tuesday's press conference, Russia's Sputnik reported.
Motegi noted, "We have decided to provide 500,000 doses to Taiwan region, 400,000 doses to Vietnam, 300,000 doses to Thailand and 100,000 doses to Brunei on the basis of applications from the corresponding regions and countries, ready for shipment as soon as they are prepared."
All batches shipped were produced in Japan.
Up to now, more than 23 million doses have also been provided to other countries and regions such as Southeast Asia and Pacific Island countries, Motegi said.
