Asia Tech Wire (Aug 12) -- U.S. networking equipment maker Cisco will lay off thousands of workers in its second round of layoffs this year, as the company's focus shifts to high-growth areas such as cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
The number of people affected by the layoffs is likely to be comparable to or slightly higher than the 4,000 people the company laid off in February.
Cisco has been struggling with weak demand and supply chain constraints in its key businesses.
The company has been trying to incorporate artificial intelligence products into its offerings.
