Asian Tech Press (Nov 2) -- Chinese solar inverter & energy storage system provider Sungrow (300274.SZ) has overtaken Tesla to become the world's largest battery energy storage systems (BESS) integrator in 2022, a new report shows.

On October 30, consulting firm Wood Mackenzie released the latest statistics on the global Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) integrator market in 2022.

The statistics show that the world's top five system integrators accounted for 62% of total BESS shipments (MWh), with Chinese companies occupying three seats.

China-based Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. ranked first in the world with 16% market share, followed by Fluence (14%) and Tesla (14%) from the US.

It is worth noting that this is the first time that a Chinese company has topped the global BESS shipments.

And Huawei and BYD, the two Chinese tech firms, ranked fourth and fifth respectively with 9% market share.
