Asia Tech Wire (July 4) -- Chinese battery giant CATL on Thursday unveiled two new power batteries for new energy commercial vehicles.

CATL launched two first-generation light commercial vehicle batteries under the Tianxing brand for the logistics and distribution industry, including a long-life version and a long-range version.

The long-life version of the battery can realize 4C super-charging, and can replenish 60% of energy in 12 minutes.

And the battery can achieve a range of 800,000 kilometers in 8 years, with a long battery life and slow decay.

CATL Chief Scientist Wu Kai said at the event that the battery "has the same life as a vehicle, and even exceeds a vehicle."

In addition, the long range version of the battery can achieve an ultra-long range of 500km when the vehicle is in full load, at a speed of 80km per hour.

CATL said that 21 models from 13 automakers have adopted the two Tianxing products.
