Blackstone plans to invest $8.2 billion in data centers in Spain

Asia Tech Wire (Oct 16) -- U.S. private equity firm Blackstone plans to invest 7.5 billion euros ($8.2 billion) to develop data centers in Aragon, Spain.

A spokesperson for the government of Aragon said on Tuesday that Blackstone will follow in the footsteps of tech giants such as Microsoft and Amazon in choosing Aragon to develop its data center business.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson revealed that 19 data center projects in the region have been submitted to the local government for approval so far.
