Asian Tech Press (OCT 19) -- Chinese tech giant Baidu's smart driving unit Apollo Baidu joined forces with Weltmeister and officially launched two new vehicles, both based on Weltmeister W6.
One production model is the Apollo Moon (Apollo Moon Weltmeister Edition), a new autonomous vehicle equipped with LIDAR.
Another is a production model equipped with Baidu's ANP Pilot Assisted Driving System and AVP Autonomous Parking System.
Since then, the cooperation between Baidu and Weltmeister has completed the full coverage from AVP for autonomous parking, ANP for navigational assistance to the fully driverless Apollo Moon model.
Weltmeister is an electric car brand owned by WM Motor Technology Co Ltd, a Shanghai-based automotive company specializing in creating battery electric vehicles.
