Asia Tech Wire (June 6) -- Dutch chip equipment maker ASML said it will deliver its latest high-numerical-aperture extreme ultraviolet (high-NA EUV) lithography machine to TSMC this year.
This latest advanced chip manufacturing equipment costs 350 million euros ($380 million) each and weighs as much as two Airbus A320 airplanes.
ASML's customers can use the equipment to produce chips that power artificial intelligence (AI) applications and advanced consumer electronics.
Roger Dassen, ASML's chief financial officer, recently told analysts on a conference call that the company's two biggest customers, TSMC and Intel, will receive the machine by the end of this year.
