AMD to invest $162 million to build R&D center in Taiwan

Asia Tech Wire (July 29) -- U.S. chipmaker AMD will invest $162 million to build an R&D center in Taiwan.

AMD will invest NT$5.33 billion ($162 million) to build a research and development center in Taiwan, according to information disclosed by Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The project will receive a NT$3.31 billion subsidy, bringing its total investment to NT$8.64 billion.
