US chip stocks rose as TSMC hit a record high
The U.S. chip sector rose, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index up 1.4%. TSMC rose more than 2.8%, hitting a record high of $231.68. AMD rose more than 1.5%, Micron Technology rose more than 1%, and Nvidia rose more than 2.6%. According to the final version of the "Big Beautiful" bill passed by the U.S. Senate, if chip companies start building new factories in the United States before the 2026 deadline proposed by the current chip bill, they will be eligible for a 35% investment tax credit, far exceeding the 25% credit under the current bill.
