On the afternoon of April 7, this morning, a screenshot of an email showing "Microsoft stops operating in China" circulated on social software. The content of the email stated: Due to changes in the geopolitical and international business environment, Microsoft will adjust its global strategic layout and will officially stop operating in China from April 8, 2025. It is understood that this email is information from Shanghai Wicresoft. An internal employee of Wicresoft revealed to Sina Technology that "the affected business mainly includes office-related business outsourcing departments." He also mentioned that "the leaders who were notified on the 3rd had no work to do on the 4th, and today the leaders told us directly. Our entire project team has been shut down, about four or five hundred people, and are waiting in line for an interview, with n+1." Public information shows that Wicresoft Software is the first joint venture company invested by Microsoft in China. It was established in 2002. Its enterprise digital service customers involve the world, and its business scope is wide, covering high-tech, Internet, finance, insurance, manufacturing, automobiles, energy, public utilities and other industries. In addition, Wicresoft Software also has multiple delivery centers around the world. As of press time, Microsoft has not responded. In response, Sina Technology called the official phone number of Wicresoft, and the relevant staff said, "We have not received any news yet, and we do not have the authority to release it to the public. Please refer to the official news for accuracy."
