Robby Walker, a senior executive in Apple's artificial intelligence division, is leaving the company, according to people familiar with the matter. Walker, one of AI chief John Giannandrea's few direct reports, previously oversaw the Siri project until oversight was transferred to software chief Craig Federighi earlier this year. The personnel shakeup comes after promised feature updates for Siri were publicly delayed. After leaving Siri, Robby Walker became one of Apple's top executives responsible for developing a new AI-powered web search system, scheduled to launch next year to compete with products like Perplexity and ChatGPT.
