The three major U.S. stock indexes closed higher, with the S&P 500 up 0.53%, a record closing high, the Nasdaq up 0.22%, and the Dow up 0.93%. Chip stocks fell, with ARM down more than 7%, Micron Technology down more than 4%, and ASML down more than 2%. Electronic Arts fell more than 16%, with weak third-quarter results and lowered full-year booking guidance.
