Mexican officials reveal Foxconn plans to build an AI server super factory locally
Foxconn plans to build an artificial intelligence server super factory near Guadalajara, which is expected to be completed within a year, said Pablo Lemus Navarro, governor of the Mexican state of Jalisco. Foxconn, also known as Hon Hai, will invest about $900 million in what will become the world's largest AI server assembly plant, using Nvidia's advanced GB200 artificial intelligence chip, Lemus said in an interview. The project is divided into two phases: expanding the existing Foxconn plant in El Salto and building a new plant nearby. Lemus said it should be completed within a year, adding that the plant is expected to start production at the end of this year or early next year. A Foxconn representative declined to comment.
