Yicai learned from several insiders that Liu Qiangdong was led by professors from HKUST to visit several artificial intelligence projects at HKUST, including the Cheng Kar-shun Robotics Laboratory and the noise testing platform for drones. According to Yicai, the Cheng Kar-shun Robotics Research Institute (CKSRI) focuses on autonomous systems and robotics research, integrating innovations in sensors, devices, systems, networks, neuroscience, data analysis and machine learning. Core research areas include autonomous driving, unmanned flying, smart buildings and smart manufacturing.
