The official WeChat account of the Road Traffic Safety Research Center of the Ministry of Public Security, "Traffic Research Society", recently published an article titled "Smart Navigation, Safe Escort - Be Cautious in Using the Assisted Driving Function of Intelligent Connected Vehicles", which mentioned recent traffic accidents caused by drivers' incorrect use of assisted driving and revealed the cause - some drivers do not have a good understanding of assisted driving and mistakenly believe that "assisted driving = automatic driving". The article pointed out that some drivers engage in dangerous behaviors such as playing with mobile phones, sleeping, chatting, and eating after turning on the assisted driving function, which not only violates road traffic safety laws and regulations, but also poses a serious threat to the safety of other road users. According to Article 28 of the "Advertising Law of the People's Republic of China", if a car company fabricates or exaggerates the assisted driving function (such as describing Level 2 assisted driving as "automatic driving") through advertisements or promotional materials to mislead consumers to buy, the market supervision department may impose a fine of 5-10 times the advertising fee for false propaganda in accordance with the "Advertising Law of the People's Republic of China", and revoke the business license in serious cases. If false advertising causes serious consequences (such as causing traffic accidents resulting in casualties), it may violate Article 222 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China, and the person responsible may be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than two years or criminal detention, and may be fined or fined alone.
