Asian Tech Press (Jan 6) -- Swedish automaker Volvo Cars announced on Wednesday that it will partner with LIDAR manufacturer Luminar to introduce its unsupervised autonomous driving feature Ride Pilot to customers in California first.

Volvo Cars said in a news press that an add-on subscription is planned to be available on Volvo Cars' upcoming new all-electric flagship SUV once Ride Pilot has passed highway road safety tests, and the new model will be launched later this year.
