Asian Tech Press (Dec 13) -- Britain's antitrust watchdog will investigate Microsoft Corp.'s $16 billion acquisition of artificial intelligence and speech technology firm Nuance Communications Inc.
Reuters reported that the U.K. Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said Monday it will look into Microsoft's $16 billion deal to buy Nuance Communications.
The CMA said it is considering whether the deal would lead to lesser competition in the UK market. And it said interested parties have until Jan. 10 to comment on the deal.
And earlier, Reuters cited sources familiar with the matter as saying the deal would be unconditionally approved by the European Union.
