Asia Tech Wire (Nov 5) -- Microsoft announced that it will terminate support services for the Windows 10 operating system on October 14, 2025, and strongly recommended that users migrate to Windows 11 as soon as possible.
Starting October 14, 2025, Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates, and customers who continue to use it will face security risks from evolving and adapting malicious threats, Microsoft said.
The minimum hardware requirement for Windows 11 is that the computer should contain a TPM 2.0 chip that supports security-related features, which the vast majority of PCs sold in the past five years have.
However, about 20%of the Windows installed base does not have this chip, which translates to 240 million computers that cannot upgrade their systems to Windows 11.
