Asia Tech Wire (May 28) -- UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with the heads of Samsung, Hyundai Motor and other Korean companies during his Seoul visit.
Mohammed arrived at Seoul airport by plane that morning to officially start a two-day state visit to South Korea, the Office of the President of the Republic of Korea said Tuesday.
Notably, this is the first visit of a UAE president to South Korea.
Mohammed had a tea talk with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Euisun, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Hanwha Group Vice Chairman Kim Dong-kwan and other heads of Korean companies in Seoul on Tuesday afternoon.
The 63-year-old UAE president will attend a welcome dinner hosted by South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Tuesday night, while the two sides will hold a summit talk on Wednesday.
The two leaders will discuss cooperation proposals in four areas, including traditional and clean energy, peaceful use of nuclear energy, economy and investment, and defense and defense technology.
