Asian Tech Press (Aug 4) -- TSMC clarified that the 3nm-related capacity expansion is on schedule, in response to the latest market rumors.
TSMC will slow down its 3nm-related capacity expansion, the two major research firms TrendForce and Isaiah Research said on Thursday, citing a survey forecast.
The two firms said the slowdown is due to that Intel previously planned to outsource the production of the tGPU on the Meteor Lake chip to TSMC, but recently deferred mass production for the third time until the end of 2023 for some reason.
In response, TSMC said, "No comment on individual customer's business, and the company's capacity expansion project is proceeding as planned."
