Asian Tech Press (Dec 7) -- TSMC expected its two chip plants in Arizona will have annual revenue of $10 billion.
Mark Liu, chairman of TSMC, said Tuesday that the two Arizona plants are expected to generate annual revenue of $10 billion when they go into operation, with the market value of their end products estimated at more than $40 billion.
TSMC announced the same day that it began construction of a new second plant in Arizona, which is expected to start producing chips with its 3nm process in 2026.
The world's largest contract chipmaker is currently building its first plant in Arizona, expecting to begin chip production with its 4nm process technology from 2024. The total investment for the two plants will be about $40 billion.
TSMC's major customers such as Apple, Nvidia and AMD have indicated that they expect their chips to be produced at TSMC's new Arizona facilities.
