Asian Tech Press (Sep 28) -- French petroleum refining company TotalEnergies SE announced Tuesday that it has signed an agreement with the China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) to establish a joint venture in electric mobility in China.

The announcement said that the joint venture plans to develop electric vehicle (EV) high power charging infrastructure and services within the central Chinese province of Hubei, and will install and operate more than 11,000 high-power charging stations by 2025.

The China Three Gorges Corporation, the operator of the world's largest hydroelectric power plant Three Gorges Dam, is a Chinese central state-owned enterprise, and the largest clean energy group in China. Its headquarters was recently relocated from Beijing to Wuhan, Hubei Province, on the occasion of the company's 28-year establishment.

TotalEnergies is the fourth-largest natural gas producer and the second-largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) operator in the world.
