Asian Tech Press (SEP 23) -- Japan's Toshiba announced its latest stepper motor driver IC TB67S539FTG, designed to provide constant control for office automation, commercial, and industrial equipment. This new driver IC enables constant-current motor control without the need for current-sensing resistors.
The TB67S539FTG uses Toshiba's newly introduced DMOSFET device to achieve a 40V motor output rated voltage, and 2.0A motor output rated current. The integrated current sense enables constant-current motor control and eliminates the need for an external current sense resistor. The H-bridge circuit for motor control uses an N-channel/N-channel configuration and has a built-in charge pump circuit for output stage control. In addition, this new driver IC does not require an external capacitor (commonly used to drive the gate of the H-bridge) because it is already integrated inside the product. This helps save space on the printed circuit board.
The TB67S539FTG supports motor drive power supplies from 4.5V to 34V and is suitable for applications driven with 24V voltage and applications driven with 12V, including surveillance cameras and projectors.
