Asia Tech Wire (Oct 9) -- Apple's iPhone 16 Pro models continued to see strong demand in the third week of the release window, according to market research firm TechInsights.
The latest report from TechInsights shows that in the third week, delivery times for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus continued to shorten each week, with immediate deliveries available in most major markets.
This compares to an average of two weeks for the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus to reach consumers during the same period in 2023.
However, TechInsights notes that market demand for the Pro series remains firm. In most countries, delivery times for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max have not changed, and that for the 16 Pro Max is approaching the record set by the 15 Pro Max last year (about 35 days in the third week).
Especially in China, delivery times for the Pro Max have even increased.
And as time goes on, the shipping cycle for Pro models usually shortens dramatically week by week.
TechInsights said that this unusual pattern this year could signal that Apple's shipments will include a larger mix of high-end models.
