Technology media AppleInsider published a blog post yesterday (March 9), reporting that Apple is developing AirPods with built-in cameras to expand Apple Intelligence technology. This innovative move aims to obtain environmental data through the headphone camera to provide users with a smarter interactive experience. Apple has introduced visual intelligence functions in the iPhone 16, allowing users to obtain detailed information about real-world objects through the phone camera. AirPods with built-in cameras will not need to rely on mobile phones, and can achieve similar functions directly through the headphone camera.

Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple's new Houston plant will produce AI servers equipped with M5 high-end processors
On February 25, Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at Tianfeng International Securities who has been following Apple's industry chain for many years, posted on the social platform X that Apple's new factory to be opened in Houston in 2026 will produce AI servers equipped with M5 high-end processors. Apple announced on February 24, 2025 that it expects to spend more than $500 billion in the United States in the next four years. It mentioned that a new factory will be opened in Houston in 2026 to produce AI servers for Apple Intelligence Private Cloud Compute (PCC). Its previous forecast mentioned that "Apple PCC infrastructure construction will be accelerated after the mass production of high-end M5 chips." The mass production time of the M5 high-end chip is 2H25-2026, which coincides with the time point when Apple announced the acceleration of AI server capacity expansion.

Apple AI will be launched in the US in April Vision Pro
On February 21, local time, Apple announced that "Apple Intelligence" will be available on its mixed reality device Vision Pro in April. Ming-Chi Kuo: iPhone SE4 shipments are expected to reach 22 million units this year, performing slightly better than previous models
On February 15, Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at Tianfeng International Securities who has been following Apple's industry chain for many years, released a report pointing out that the iPhone SE4 is planned to ship about 12 million units/10 million units in 1H25/2H25, which is slightly better than the previous SE models (annual shipments are close to 20 million units after the launch). In addition to reducing the impact of the off-season on shipments, this new model will also help accelerate the penetration of models that support Apple Intelligence. The use of Apple's self-developed baseband chip is also a key point. Qualcomm will re-evaluate its baseband patents after the model is released, and believes that there is an opportunity to obtain some patent licensing fees to reduce the loss of lost orders.

Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple Intelligence doesn't help iPhone sales much
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo released a report pointing out that Apple Intelligence is not of much help to iPhone sales. According to its industry survey, overall iPhone 4Q24 shipments declined by approximately 5.8%, but iPhone revenue only declined by 0.8% year-on-year in 4Q24, because the iPhone's product shipment mix in 4Q24 further improved. In terms of the new Pro series’ share of total shipments, it increased significantly from 54% in 4Q23 to 61%. In addition, users who purchase the Pro series are very likely to pay extra for a version with higher storage space, so the Pro series' contribution to the average unit price is very significant. However, the proportion of Pro models cannot increase endlessly. The decline in iPhone revenue in the Q12025 financial report is a warning sign. If Apple does not adjust its iPhone product and sales strategy, the trend will continue and iPhone revenue will decline by a mid-single-digit year-on-year in 2026.
