Asia Tech Wire (Sep 26) -- South Korea's Samsung and LG are developing a sound-emitting display for mobile phones, according to Sisa Journal.

Display industry sources said that Samsung Display and LG Display are developing an OLED panel that can emit sound from the display itself.

The two companies, along with a South Korean device company, have reportedly developed a piezoelectric device called "Piezo" that emits sound from the display itself without the need for a loudspeaker.

They are currently preparing to introduce this sound-emitting display into foldable smartphones.
