April 26, according to Nikkei News and Reuters, a Samsung Group subsidiary is considering investing $673 million to build a solar power plant in Texas.
The power plant would have a combined generating capacity of about 700 megawatts and would begin construction in June 2022, with commercial production scheduled to begin in December 2023.
The documents show that these solar facilities will be located in Milam County, Texas. The county is less than a two-hour drive from Samsung Electronics' chip plant in Austin, which is considering a new $17 billion chip plant in Austin.
