Sony officials recently announced that PlayStation 5, the next-generation game console, has sold more than 10 million units worldwide since its debut on Nov. 12, 2020.

PS5 is the fastest-selling console in Sony Interactive Entertainment history and continues to outpace the sales of its predecessor, PlayStation 4.

Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment(SIE), said on Twitter that "The #PlayStation5 is our fastest-selling console ever, and I want to thank all of our fans for making this possible. We're working hard on improving the supply. Hopefully soon everyone yelling at me for being unable to purchase will have no more reason."

Looking ahead, SIE's PS5 sales forecast for the current fiscal year remains unchanged. The lineup of exclusive games from PlayStation Studio will include: the new God of War (Santa Monica Studios), Gran Turismo 7 (Polyphony Digital), and Horizon Forbidden West (Guerrilla ); and highly anticipated games from SIE partners, including Battlefield 2042 (Electronic Arts), DEATHLOOP (Bethesda), Far Cry 6 (Ubisoft) and Kena: Bridge of Spirits (Ember Lab).
